More precisely, he was hit directly in the butt.
Even the Pirates announcers said, for a purpose pitch, good place to do it.

Definitely, just a fastball to the hip/butt.

Nice job. That'll show 'em.
Nah, referencing Dusty putting Izturis in the #2 slot a couple games ago (don't remember which one).

Absolutely intentional.
Re: 6/02/13 Redlegs v. Peglegs
McCutchen strikes out swinging. 4-0 Reds after 1

Hurdle knew this was going to happen, and that it would likely happen to the #3 hitter (two outs in the first). I think that is why he moved Andrew McCutchen to the #4 spot in the order today. This is the first time this season that he has hit fourth.

Thanks
Just reminding them the Reds can do it too. Guess they've gotten tired of getting beaned.
Re: 6/02/13 Redlegs v. Peglegs
I'm not gonna be surprised if Gomez throws at Latos here to start the 2nd
Re: 6/02/13 Redlegs v. Peglegs
I hope it doesn't end up spoiling Latos' perfect game. Although, actually, that would be pretty neat.

Outstanding catch.

If Votto gets plunked and injured today I'm going to be mad
