The only way Stubbs catches that is if the seats are completely vacant. Than, maybe Stubbs can extend his arm back far enough without anything in his way. But either way, I still doubt he gets that. Nope, no Steve Bartman sighting in Cincy tonight.
Re: NLDS Game 3 - Reds vs Phillies 10/10/10
With the way our bats are going, this feels like a 10-0 deficit.
Poor JC. Pitching his butt off and the offense (and defense in the first) refuses to do anything for him.
Re: NLDS Game 3 - Reds vs Phillies 10/10/10
I don't have any confidence now for the Reds to be able to score 2 runs.

Your being optimistic sir.

Remember when a few of us openly wondered about the struggles of the offense back in September?

He did, and while it's hard to be definitive, he seemed to be under it, over the wall when BartmanII reached for it with his glove. It was over the wall, so no interference, but Stubbs had a chance if the idiot didn't try to catch it.

I know what the stats say, but it's been clear all year that we've needed another bat.

Am I the only one furious about that play? Stubbs was probably not going to get it, yes. But you are sitting in the first row in the first home playoff game in 15 years, an opposing player hits one to you, the Reds CF is tracking back right at you - how dumb do you have to be to try to catch that ball? You see Stubbs running at you, you clear your butt out of the way and let him have a chance.

I concur.
Also if waving white towels is suppose to help your team, then wouldn't moving out of the way and letting Stubbs try the miraculous be common sense? I doubt he gets it, but a GROWN MAN with a GLOVE at the BALLPARK prevented his attempt

Absolutely.
They have been way too susceptible to being completely shut down all year. Good numbers overall, but completely inconsistent.

Front-row fans should be given a baseball IQ test.

Ondrusek & Homer warming up.
Bruce flies out to the catcher in foul ground.

Hopefully we make an addition (LF) or two (SS) in the offseason.
Hate to say it, but this appears to be the end.
