Re: 6/7/2013 Reds v. Cardinals (The Return of Phillips...this time it's personal)
It wouldn't be the most humiliating thing for the Reds to be swept by the Cardinals. This year's Cards team will go down in history as one of the best lineups and pitching staffs in the modern era. Statues of Kozma and Carpenter will be bronzed and placed in front of the Hall of Fame and we will tell our children of the sweet pleasure of being able to say our Reds even shared the same field as them.

Was it good or bad that the first thing I saw when I walked outside this morning was a Cardinal on the deck railing?
That depends....did you shoot it with a BB gun? And did it have neck tats?
(Very much kidding btw)

Hey, I enjoy watching actual cardinal birds and listening to their song. Doesn't mean diddly. The Cardinal is our state bird.

And how ironic is it that the state bird of Missouri is the BLUEbird?

I know. I'm an avid bird watcher too. And the cardinal is my favorite. Just going for a laugh. I break for PIGEONS. (dead serious this time)

Speaking of birds, what was that bird they had on there just now? Looked like some sort of buzzard, somebody from the Cincinnati Zoo carrying it.
Oh, never mind. It was a bald eagle. :D

Hey, I LIKE birds, and goodness knows we feed 'em enough, but a Cardinal of any sort was not what I needed to see at 6am on the opening day of a Reds-Cards series... lol!
At my feeders, I personally think Blue Jays are a strikingly beautiful bird, and prefer the cardinal hens over the males. There's something... elegant... about their more demure coloration. :)

Maybe all it represented was that you would be seeing more Cardinals this evening.
Matt Carpenter is out on a groundout.
