Does The Next Games Starting Pitcher Chart Pitches Anymore?
Back as far as I can remember, the next games starting pitcher usually would chart the pitches in that current game.
They showed Andy Pettite in the Yankee dugout tonight and he was no where near a clipboard and pencil. :thumbdown
Is this process now extinct?

I remember somebody doing that sometime last year, but I havn't seen it since. I guess with the new tecnology they probably hae a computer that will tell them all that. Still they should keep that tradition alive.

They still do it in the minors.

I love how the minor leagues continue baseball traditions. Like in the Reds minor leeagues you see the high socks. I love that about the minors.:)

I still do not know why it is extinct fromt he majors. If you chart each pitch, you will know what to throw or not to throw the next game. :)

I think the Reds still do this. I can't remember the particular outing but one of the games this year where Harang was really effective (threw a majority first pitch strikes), Matt Belisle was seen charting and even commented after the game about how he hates charting Harang because he is ridiculously good.
Not sure if it was just a fluke, but he definitely mentioned it, and he was definitely the next games starting pitcher.
