Agree that Phillips has the right to feel the way he does, but don't think he should have made a public stink about it. Not sure what that really accomplishes for him other than headaches.

Someone on the front page mentioned Dan Uggla.
That's quickly becoming one of the worst contracts in the history of baseball. It's amazing how many rallies that guy can kill over the course of 9 innings.
We now return you to our regularly scheded soap opera.

Uggla and BJ Upton. The Braves may win the award for most lousey contracts. With those two stinking up the budget, have to wonder what happens when Freeman, Heyward and Justin Upton come due.

Votto finds Phillips comments "refreshing." Says it "makes me like him even more." #reds @Cincienquirer

Joey Votto. A gentlemen among boys.

Yea, I honestly laughted when Phillips said <paraphrased> All Joey does is hit, catch the ball, and make money. I'm sure he meant that in a joking way not malicious. It's obvious that BP likes and respects Votto.

Some people just prefer to be honest when asked about things. Don't really think he was "making a stink" as much as answering a question or series of questions truthfully.

Fancy this.... Joey says exactly what I was saying earlier:
Quote:
“I haven’t read the article and I’d heard snippets of it, but from what I gathered, Brandon’s reaction was totally human. It’s a feeling I’ve felt before, it’s a feeling most people have felt before.
“Brandon’s a teammate I’ve played with six, seven years now and I love playing with him. I really have an immense amount of respect for him. Those comments have nothing to do with me. It doesn’t change a single thing, it makes me like him more, to be honest with you. Not many players are very honest, usually they give catch phrases, similar to what I’m doing right now. He’s a refreshing guy because he is honest and he does tell people how he feels. You can tell how he feels in that given moment and that’s a great thing. It’s great playing with someone like that. Variety is the spice of life and I love playing with Brandon.”
As I figured, this is a much bigger deal on RZ than it is in the clubhouse

Oddly enough, Phillips personal parking spot was moved to Kentucky shortly before Joey gave his interview. The Reds say it was a "clerical error" and it will be corrected as "soon as we can".

I thought the bolded part was pretty funny.
