Somewhere Mutaman is smiling today....
....because Walt finally listened. We got us an honest-to-goodness, left-handed outfield bat. Joey Gathright! WHO??? Joey Gathright! He has been assigned to Louisville. When you are batting .240 for the Bridgeport Bluefish in the independent Atlantic League, you are ready.
So now we have Joey Gathright if an outfielder goes down.
And Willie Harris if an infielder goes down.
Let's see:
Over 30 - check
Fast - check
Can't get on base - check
No power - check
Plays CF - check
I see some serious leadoff potential here.
Now don't disturb Walt until at least the ASG.

Maybe we can work jumping into the game somehow - Walt might know something here --
Re: Somewhere Mutaman is smiling today....
Have you seen the Louisville roster...they needed some help and that is all he is...
Re: Somewhere Mutaman is smiling today....
He is hitting .240 in an independent league
Re: Somewhere Mutaman is smiling today....
Gary Majewski pitches in that league
They could have signed Felix Pie who is hitting .353
Re: Somewhere Mutaman is smiling today....
Hey, as long as he hits left handed that's good enough for me!

Lets be clear, he bats left handed. I don't think he hits from either side.
Re: Somewhere Mutaman is smiling today....
I like the signing in the fact that he could be a heck of a pinch runner and defensive replacement late in games if he ever makes enough contact to get called up. Hate it because if he gets called up you can say good bye to heisey with the history dusty has.
