Help me with this trade...

So, my buddy has Carl Crawford (this is a non RedsZone league) and I'm trying to grab him. Unfortunately, my buddy is trying to get a lot for Crawford since he is such a great player for fantasy points. Crawford could damn near win the Stolen Base category in a couple weeks.
Anyway, he's asking that I do this trade:

He gets: Zambrano and Billy Wagner

I get: Carl Crawford and Solomen Torres



I think that sounds a bit steep, would you guys do it?

I understand that I'm giving up Wagner who could possibly have 40+ saves and a low ERA...as well as Zambrano who could win 15+ and get 200+ K's.
...but, Crawford (58 steals in '06) can greatly help me out in steals since I already have Jimmy Rollins (36 steals in '06), Brandon Phillips (25), and Willy Tavares (33).

Crawford piled up 89 runs last year, 18 HR's and 77 RBI's while batting .305.

Solomen Torres isn't a lot to get in return, he's basically in the trade for extra padding. He could still grab 15 saves for me. If I do trade Wagner, my relievers will be Trevor Hoffman, Jason Isringhausen and Solomen Torres.



Yay or nay?

Who are you other SPs? Can you afford to give up Zambrano?

He wants your best starter and your best reliever. Keep negotiating.

If it's the plain speed you're after, I don't think you need to make the trade. The guys you have should be fine in that regard. BP and Rollins are good for 20-30 a piece, maybe more for Rollins. And all things I've heard on Taveras have him aiming to swipe around 50 in Colorado.

An ace and a good closer, which are hard to come by, is a steep price to pay.

Yeah, that's what I keep telling him...I wasn't leaning toward doing it, but I THOUGHT about it. My pitching staff looks bad ass if you ask me!

Too much. Crawford must be his favorite player.

Your best pitcher for just one category (though Crawford does a little more than swipe bags) is too much.

If this helps, I am about to trade Crawford (and Sowers) for Texeira and Trevor Hoffman. How do you think that compares? (I really need a closer, and I have Furcal and Phillips to swipe bags.)
