Re: Please help... Baby names needed
The litmus test we had for children's names was how it would sound being announced at a graduation commencement.
If you think people might giggle, roll their eyes, or exchange quizzical looks, then keep looking for names.
Believe me, we've heard some doozies. As my wife said, "what in God's name were people thinking?".
Re: Please help... Baby names needed
I once met a lady named Modene Gunch.

We've got 2 actually. It has to sound like a CEO and a person I'd let work on my car.
As for not finding out the sex, I'm with you. I wanted to know, my wife wanted another surprise. For me the surprise of having a third baby was enough.

Or the slightly less obvious, but just as hilarious "Steve Hershiser"?
OK, maybe it's not *quite* as hilarious...

I'll mention that one to my wife. She hates Jim Edmonds.

My favorite baseball name of recent years was:
Arquimedez Pozo

But I don't think I would wish than name on a baby.
There is a Welsh name Gwyn which you could always spell Gwynn.

This is almost as entertaining as when my sister in law were trying to decide what breeds of dogs should be named after the 2007 Reds line up...
When in doubt, use a name of a street sign s'what I did.. just sayin... And just so you know... all three of my kids are mad because they can't find any personalized stuff with their names on it... that should have been in my criteria...
Re: Please help... Baby names needed
With the first child we both just wanted a name we liked. We narrowed it down to 2 names, Grant and Gavin. We leaned toward Gavin. When my oldest was born we both looked at him, and then looked at each other and almost instantly it hit us. The kids name had to be Grant. It was weird. It was almost like someone from above told us to name him that. It hit us both at the same time and while my wife was holding him in the bed I said "I think we should name him Grant," and she said "I was just going to say that," even though we had both wanted to name him Gavin just 20 minutes earlier. So we went with that. We gave him the middle name of Alexander because it sounded good and prestigious.
Our second son was named after two people that passed away shortly before he was born. My wife's cousin was in a car wreck and passed away. His name was Chad. We named our second son after him. My Grandfather also passed away during the pregnancy and we made my Grandfather's name his middle name. Chad Antonio.
We're clueless on a name for the third one due in September. Have to find out the sex first (2 weeks away) so we can narrow down the choices.

So they get street signs for Christmas?
