Dang it, I see I got the wrong date yesterday. The time before, I had the wrong day. I should probably steer clear of thread-starting.
Through three, Lotzkar has walked four and fanned six. It's still 2-0.
Blue Wahoos are up 6-5 in the bottom of the 9th with Donnie Joseph trying to lock down the save.
Lotzkar's line: 4 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 4 BB, 7 K.
Would have liked to see him go at least 5 innings, but he was racking up the pitch count (76). Still a good -- albeit short -- outing for him. I'd rather a guy go 4 innings and give up no runs, than a guy go 6 innings, give up 3 runs and get the fictitious "quality start."
Pensacola wins 6-5. Donnie Joseph locks down his ninth save. His ERA is down to 0.40.
Ryan LaMarre was 3-for-4 and is now batting .294. He had a pair of doubles and his 12th stolen base of the season.
Billy Hamilton leads off with a single, steals second (his 40th bag of the season), Bowe bunts him over to third, Lohman with a sac fly ... 1-0 Blaze. Justice French on the mound for the Blaze.
Louisville took out a little frustration tonight, 9-2. Home runs by Valaika, Negron and Soto. Three hits for Negron and Valaika. Two for Soto, Rhinehart and Dorn (2 doubles). Sean Gallagher had a good 6-inning start.
Radhames Quezada, El'Hajj Muhammad and Lucas O'Rear have all been lit up, and Dayton trails 12-1 in the seventh.
Bakersfield is going to extras, 2-2. French went six. Hamilton, Bowe, Lutz and Jaren Matthews have all been thrown out stealing.
Bakersfield finally won in 16 innings, 4-2. Blaze relievers--Doyle, Pearl, Wolford, Joyce (3) and Griffin--threw 10 scoreless innings. Travis Mattair was 4 for 7. Theo Bowe was 2 for 3 with 3 BB and is now batting .579.
Went to the first 2 Wahoos games here in Jax. I thought Lotzkar looked pretty good (except for his wildness one inning and his porn stache). I'm no scout but I expected to see a real herky-jerky delivery and it wasn't that I noticed.
Re: Why is Partch on the roster? Suns held a closest to the pin contest before the game (pitching wedge from home, land at 2b) and he won so I suspect he's a golfer. But he came in and pitched later and I can see why Reds are giving him every chance. He's a big solid guy with a smooth powerful delivery. He just LOOKS like he should be good. They looked like they've moved him from starter to reliever so maybe that will make a difference.
