Re: Felix Baumgartner is the Freaking Man
I once fell 24 miles, but only metaphorically.
Re: Felix Baumgartner is the Freaking Man
I know he didn't pitch well but it is truly amazing that the guy went to SF and pitched after all that.

He theorized that Einstein was wrong, and he proved it with this jump. That's why it's such a big deal.
Re: Felix Baumgartner is the Freaking Man
Would falling faster than the speed of light allow him to jump, land and then look up and see himself falling?

No, Earth was in a different position at the time.

Okay, so I guess landing upon himself is impossible. Because that was my next question.

That's the thing about time travel. Even if you're able to go back in time, you have to account for the fact that Earth is constantly revolving and rotating. It gives a lot of people pause when I bring that up.
And my humor was lost on a couple folks. Felix Baumgartner did not travel faster than light. Travelling that fast would've undoubtedly killed him.

And it would be really scary because light wouldn't be able to keep up with him and it would be really dark.

I feel sorry for the people who jumped off the New River Gorge Bridge today. I mean, that's like jumping into the kiddies pool now.
