The ball Espinosa was called out should never be missed ever, the ball was a full foot from the glove when his foot hit the bag while the ball Jay hit was bang-bang.

Re: Postseason Scoreboard Watching
The only year in the history of MLB baseball the Cards make the playoffs is this year. They have 88 wins and played over a 100 game run with a losing record and could beat the Braves 94, Nats 98 and Reds 97 wins to go to the WS. Its terrible MLB makes the regular season so meaningless, its basically a 3 week season and the teams playing hot at the end go on to win in October no matter how good or bad they are.

Umps are suppose to be the best of the best to begin with, then to be a playoff ump you should be better than that. If you get to that level you should never miss a call that obvious. Jim Joyce is terrible at plays at first base and shouldn't be allowed to call big games there no matter how respected he is that's around 18 inches he missed the call by anyone normal fan with no experience should get that one right.

Well they miss the playoffs by 6 games if it was a normal season.

Does it matter if he missed the call by 8 inches or 8 feet...no. These umps get graded every year and the best ones make the playoffs...what are they gonna do, tell him he can't ump at 1st because some fan thinks he sux at umping there. There has been some bad calls this playoffs, 1 possibly cost the Braves a win (I doubt they woulda came back...but you never know) and this one wont cost the Nats this game!!! What if our bosses were this harsh on us when we f'ed something up...the Army woulda fire me 15 years ago...LOL
Re: Postseason Scoreboard Watching
Yes to more its missed by the more inexcusable it is, no MLB ump should ever miss a call that bad.
Re: Postseason Scoreboard Watching
The Nats now 3-for-22 with RISP in the series.
Re: Postseason Scoreboard Watching
Guess the Reds arent he only ones to have severe droughts batting with RISP- Nats now 3-23 in their series and 0 for the last 13 according to MLB gameday announcers ... not pretty. Was kind of hoping they'd take down the Cards but not looking good- we may be hosting game 1 of NLCS :)
