From the blog...
Quote:
Volquez was slated to next pitch on Wednesday at Milwaukee, so there will obviously be a change there coming eventually. Stay tuned.
Quote:
Volquez has a 29.25 ERA in the first inning this season and a 1.93 ERA over the rest of the game. Over his first four starts, he combined to throw 128 pitches in the first inning and allowed 12 hits, 8 walks and 13 runs.
Quote:
The Reds are looking for their first series win at Busch Stadium since a three-game sweep from June 5-7, 2006. Since then, they are 0-10-1 in the last 11 series here.
Quote:
This will be the 21st time the Reds appear on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball. They are 7-13 in those games. The last time they played in the evening on Sunday was 5/8/05 vs. the Dodgers, a 9-3 loss. The last Sunday night win was a 3-0 victory over the Cubs on 8/13/00.

What a fine time for a Reds winning streak.

The forecast for STL is not looking promising.

Eric Milton pitched that game, I believe. I think he hit a homer and Griffey robbed somebody of a homer too.

The epic pitching matchup of Eric Milton - Jeff Weaver.
On another note, has Hanigan ever caught Volquez before? I thought that was Hernandez's thing

As far as the weather goes the game will start on time but there is a lot of rain headed toward St. Louis that may be there within a hour or two of the game starting.

So, I'm pretty sure... (Like 100% sure) that the Reds haven't won a game this year in which i've posted in the game thread...
I'm also pretty sure... that the Reds have won almost every game that I haven't posted in the game thread....
Just sayin

Re: Reds @ Cards, 04/24/2011 - The Rubber Game, ESPN Game of the week
Even on that groundout to 3rd base, Stubbs was STILL within 1-2 steps of first. Dude is so quick.
-Matt
BP grounds out 1-3

Re: Reds @ Cards, 04/24/2011 - The Rubber Game, ESPN Game of the week
Votto grounds out to 2nd. 0-0 mid 1st.

I wonder if the law of averages could possibly be kind to Edinson. I almost want to do something else for the next fifteen minutes or so.
Almost.
