Stubbs now at .357/.347/.704 for the year. He has a scant 18 XBH to his name. His great speed has accounted for 9 CS in 24 attempts.
It was a massive red flag when he couldn't hit at Billings, and he has done nothing in Dayton to convince me that he is going to put it together at the plate.

Do you mean .257/.357/.404? Otherwise, those numbers look pretty good to me (not to mention impossible!)
Edit: Whoops... I was thinking that was BA/OBP/SLG but now I'm thinking it might be OBP/SLG/OPS... is that right?

Stubbs is hitting .243/.338/.351/.689 after tonight. He has also struck out 81 times to boot. I'm not sure where C.E. was getting his numbers from or what they were.
It's not looking good for Drew.
Re: Tuesday 6/26 minor league updates (Mesoraco's debut)
Pretty exciting night in the minors for the Reds. It looks like we may see Medlock in Cincinnati sometime this summer. I haven't seen him throw. For those who have, who is he comparable to? What pitches does he throw and at what speeds?
Re: Tuesday 6/26 minor league updates (Mesoraco's debut)
It will be interesting if the Reds shutdown Stubbs. His falloff at the plate has been extreme, to the point where his injury may be a real factor. He hasn't run well the last month.
Re: Tuesday 6/26 minor league updates (Mesoraco's debut)
One could say he was able to put up some type of numbers despite being injured all season.
Re: Tuesday 6/26 minor league updates (Mesoraco's debut)
do we look to move Stubbs before the trading deadline?

Who would take him? I think they should seriously consider shutting him down and having surgery or whatever it takes to fix turf toe. Let him come back fresh next year and see what he can do. If he flops again, then the injury excuse can't be used again.

It's probably the same one they use in Detroit that had Verlander at 102 mph in the 9th of his no hitter, and Zumaya at 104 mph last year.

Yeah I'm pretty sure he meant it as OBP/SLG/OPS. But the other way (BA/OBP/SLG) wouldn't be impossible. You can have a lower OBP than BA due to sac flies and sac bunts, especially if the player doesn't take many walks.
Re: Tuesday 6/26 minor league updates (Mesoraco's debut)
My computer hasn't been working right, so I missed Cueto's first start. Very impressive start, especially for a headcase.
Bruce is destroying AA still I see. Best prospect in baseball folks.
