Re: Who is Redszone's #11 Prospect?
I'm torn. I think what I'm gonna start doing is holding my vote back until we have some legit contenders surface and then pick who I think is the best between those. If I vote for who I think the next best prospect is right now I believe it will be a wasted vote. So might as well make mine count and maybe who knows I might get lucky and my guy will be in the running for this spot. FYI my guy is Valaika or Hamillton here, probably Valaika but I'll wait and see if he's in the race before I vote.
Re: Who is Redszone's #11 Prospect?
I changed from Hamilton to Valaika. I don't think you can demote a guy too far for one off season, especially when he hit pretty well once he came back from injury, especially in August. Guy had a plus .800 OPS the year before and plays much better D than Frazier at second. He's also a notoriously slow starter to each new level, and before he got going he got hurt.
Re: Who is Redszone's #11 Prospect?
Maloney for me. Next year's 5th starter at #11 ain't bad.

not voting for a guy that projects as a journeyman at best... No Maloney for me...
Re: Who is Redszone's #11 Prospect?
I love hamilton's upside, and have to vote for him here.
Re: Who is Redszone's #11 Prospect?
Looks like my last vote. If Maloney wins at #11, I'm done. Apparently the Reds only have 10 prospects worth looking forward to then...

Not sure where you are getting that the Reds only have 10 legitimate prospects. Both Duran and Hamilton are bonifide prospects. They are just to young and with a limited track record to rate in the top ten yet.

He's saying that if the consensus is the Reds only have 10 prospects better than Maloney, who is pretty much terrible, than there's no point in any further voting.
Only 10 prospects > Maloney ='s No hope or change

Not too young to rate #11 and #12 though...but alas, the people who love the AAA placeholders must be satisfied with a non-top 20 prospect at #11...with Maloney at #11 the pole becomes meaningless to me. Enjoy.

Most scouts believe that Matt Maloney can be a #4 starter. I think you extremely undervalue what 180 innings of 4.60 ERA is worth to a baseball team.

I agree. The Reds should be so lucky as to have 10 prospects that pan out better than that.
