I spent the last three days at the ballpark. Positively in love. I'm not worried, I'm ready to move in.
I am worried. This team needs to warm up or else its a quick exit to the playoffs. Yes our pitching is good, but they have to have support. All we can hope for is a quality start, that means the offense better put up 4 or more a game to have a chance.
I remember a couple 2-1 games in the NLCS in '90 and game 4 of the WS as well. They're going to need to win a couple of those kind of games in the Postseason to take the whole thing. Great pitching can win some of those games when the offense isn't quite clicking.
This team has exceed all expectations I had for this season. Even dealt with some adversity admirably well.
At this point, up against teams that are roughly as good as the REDS, and in short series, it's a crapshoot.
We need to flip a coin three times and call it correctly. That's a one in eight shot. I'd love for it to happen, but if it doesn't, the year will still be a success in my eyes.
I agree. I would like for the Reds to at least win the division series. IMO after that its all icing on the cake. Now dont get me wrong I want a World Series just as bad as everyone else but this team has been so enjoyable this summer esp. with the personal stuff Ive had going on lately. Im not going to let my opinion change of this team if we dont make it to the promise land.
I don't know how many times I have to tell you people that this team is tenacious.
I'm worrying about 6-8 major things, 19-24 smaller things, at any given moment including during sleep. I do not worry about this team. They might get beaten by a team that plays better and beats them fairly during the playoffs. But the Reds are going to play good baseball and they are not going to choke. They are solid, they are confident, and they are very, very good. They are going to be fun to watch during the playoffs and they are going to be a fantastic team to root for, because they are tenacious.
And they play great defense. In fact you might say that they play "Tenacious D" :D

I am not worried about the Reds. They've done better than I thought they would and it doesn't make sense for me to start making demands on them that I think are higher than they should be at this point. They are starting to look like they have a shot at being a very good team for the next decade, so I hope they give me reason to amp up my expectations over the next few years. For right now, I'm thrilled and amazed at what this ball club has done and if they go out early, then they go out early. Sure, it will be a disappointment because it's always a joy to cheer your team on, deep into the playoffs. But the Reds are a good team again and I have no reason not to expect them to be in this position next year.
Secondly, what is it going to take for people to quit worrying about these guys? Haven't they taught us this year never to count them out? They're a resilient team.
Like woy said a ways back, the only team I nver worried about was the '76 Reds. They were a once in a lifetime killer ballclub.
Every other Reds team has had a high prozac factor. Even in the '70's, it was a rollercoaster. But that's the fun part.
Nope. No worries...I expect them to turn it up a notch in the next 3 days though. ;)
