Re: Official 2012 Draft Day Thread (Day 2)
Astros draft Ruiz to start the 4th round. Hell of a draft for them so far, although it will be interesting to see if they can sign everyone.
Re: Official 2012 Draft Day Thread (Day 2)
KC picks Diekroeger - nice pick for them at this spot
Re: Official 2012 Draft Day Thread (Day 2)
No one that jumps out on the board at this point unless they go for a hard sign HS pick (which I'd love to see one more of, but am not holding my breath...)

Now is when I really start to rely entirely on the Reds scouts

Yep
Re: Official 2012 Draft Day Thread (Day 2)
I'm betting Bernie Stowe hates this draft so far: the names on the back of the jerseys are going to be tough. Redszone needs to have a name list handy.

Stowe and Reds - two names that are synonomous

I don't know. He's projected to hit for a lot more power, which would make him a five-tool prospect. (Low 90s arm in RF, with speed, eye, and hitting tool.)
How many teams have their lowest ceiling as a five-tooler?
Re: Official 2012 Draft Day Thread (Day 2)
There goes Xavier's Seth Willoughby
Re: Official 2012 Draft Day Thread (Day 2)
Preston Beck or Trey Williams would look good here.
Re: Official 2012 Draft Day Thread (Day 2)
Trey Williams would look tremendous
Re: Official 2012 Draft Day Thread (Day 2)
Williams doesn't have a position, though. Between Rosa and Rahier, 3B is handled.
I'm guessing either an OF or a pitcher. College reliever, perhaps.
Re: Official 2012 Draft Day Thread (Day 2)
Jon Moscot Pepperdine - 6'4" SP led Cape Cod league in strikeouts.
D'Vone McClure goes to Cleveland with the next pick. Oh well.
Re: Official 2012 Draft Day Thread (Day 2)
Reds take Jonathan Moscot
Re: Official 2012 Draft Day Thread (Day 2)
John Moscot, college pitcher, pitched well on the Cape (led in Ks), starter, from Pepperdine, has splitter, fastball at 96, curve, fair command, "knows how to pitch"
