Re: 9/16/2013 Reds v. Astros
That baserunning play is like when you're at a yield sign with a car in front of you. You're watching the traffic looking for openings and not necessarily paying attention to the car in front....you see an opening in the traffic and you assume the car in front will go...so you tap on the gas before looking to see if that car went.
I think Cozart was thinking why the heck Ludwick didn't go to third when that ball got away from the catcher.
Re: 9/16/2013 Reds v. Astros
Well we blew a nice lead against a Triple AAA team yesterday. Can we hold on tonight against a Double AA team?

You may have forgotten the infamous argument in the first month of the season, when Kozma had a better OPS, and a Cards fan's statement that "he'd even take a .750 OPS from Kozma", like that was the bottom line expected of him.

Yeah, I do remember that. Wonder where that guy disappeared to?

And guess who is at fault in your scenario?
I agree...if Ludwick had been more adept in that situation, he could have made it to third. But he is slow. He got hurt sliding into third. He might not have seen the ball well. It is moot. He hesitated on a ball that got away from the catcher. Cozart has to be looking ahead on the play.

He's been quite sick.

I like to play with fire. I'd consider sending Partch out and see if he can finish this. I like my big dogs to get some rest when they can.

The latter is not impressive, it's just sad.

And his last appearance.
Re: 9/16/2013 Reds v. Astros
I know Marshall was activated. But is he available now?

I'm definitely not placing blame on either, just describing. Without question, Cozart needs to make sure the base isn't occupied....he wasn't watching. While standing on 2nd he had simultaneous thoughts....Why the heck did Ludwick not go...and...Dang, I screwed up.
Re: 9/16/2013 Reds v. Astros
Got home late and only was able to tune in last inning.
Wow. We're beating a team we should be beating. All is well in the world. If Simon and the pen can limit the bleeding to no more than a few runs, we'll win this.
And, Colorado is giving the RedBirds a game as we thought they might. Now 1-1 bottom 6.
And, somehow the Bucs lost to the Padres.
Another day like this tomorrow and we can restart that "will we win the division" debate. Bring it on, I say.

guess I'm confused -- ESPN shows his last appearance as 9/11 -- 1 IP 1 hit no runs
Re: 9/16/2013 Reds v. Astros
Haven't been watching. How was Cueto's delivery, did it look way different?
