To me, it's not even about the division lead. It's about winning as many games as you can as a team. If the Reds can't come back in this one, that makes it three games in the span of 5 days that the Reds, in my book, should have won. Of course they have and will win ones that should have been loses, but the point remains. Can't let winnable games slip through that much at this kind of pace or else you end up back at .500 or worse

Nice pitching by Lecure. He looks really great sometimes. Tonight was such a night.
Dusty looking around the bench for some rookie right handed swingers to see if he can get them up this inning.

We're down by a run with 2 hitting innings left to their 1.
Keep your pants on.

Of course, but what do I know? Heck, I thought working the pitcher was a good idea instead of making an out on the first pitch. Or second, but maybe you're right. Maybe it's lineup construction. No, that couldn't be right. Pitching? No.
I give up.

LeCure with a fantastic outing. This bullpen is crazy this year.
Re: 6/22/12 - Reds vs Twins
Jared Burton in to pitch.

Pretty simple tonight. The starting pitcher didn't have it. A rookie couldn't get a run home with the bases loaded. And honorable mention to the reliever who walked in a run.
That's about it.
But the Reds have two at bats coming. I'm feeling confident. Let's go get them.
Burton pitching, let's remind him of some lesser days at GABP.

It's in most cases wrong to swing at the first pitch if its out of the zone or not hittable.
Swinging at the first pitch, simply because its the first pitch, is not wrong just because you said so.

Working the pitcher is often swinging and missing.
If the pitcher is throwing strikes, you can't sit there.

29 Ks versus 3 walks for Burton. When did he learn control.

So is constantly being behind 0-1 in every count.

Seriously, look at major league stats when a batter puts the first pitch into play. The results are strong. I question whether you understand how hits happen.
Re: 6/22/12 - Reds vs Twins
Phillips grounds out to short.
Re: 6/22/12 - Reds vs Twins
Bruce flies out to center on the first pitch.
