Looking back on the Reds 2012 season, what was the standout memory?
So many good things happened during those 162 days of baseball.
Opening Day...
Joey Votto's grandslam on mothers day when were down by 3 or 4 against the Nats........
That pirates vs reds weekend where charlie sheen came down, and marty did the whole shave marty day for the poor kids with cancer.......
The 10 game winning streak
The Reds persevering without Votto in the lineup
The Arizona comeback game where we were down 6 runs
Homer Bailey's no hitter against the Pirates
Clinch Day against the Dodgers
So many nice memories from 2012:beerme::beerme:
Which was your fave!

Choking away the playoff series against the Giants. 2-game lead. Three home games. See ya. That is unforgettable.

agreed -- but I'd tag on the wildly improbable idea that the SP didn't miss a start

What's memorable 162 games, or 5 games?
It sucks that it happened. But i'd take an entertaining season like the one we had, as opposed to a boring playoffs.

3 games. All losses. Out of the playoffs. Why would you ask for opinions and then try to question them? Makes no sense. You remember what you want and let everyone else do the same.:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Marty shaving his head.
Votto's AB against Lowe and his 3 HR game
The howl.
Losing Bray, Masset and Madsen and still having one of the best bullpens in baseball.
Yes the finish was disappointing but this was a great year and next year should be even better.

What's more memorable..the journey, or the destination?

Each person decides that for themselves. That is why they are called opinions. If you followed your line of thinking, even if the Reds had won the World Series, you would have to pick the regular season (journey) over the World Championship (destination).
Re: Looking back on the Reds 2012 season, what was the standout memory?
I saw the boys 4 times and each one was memorable:
1. Saw the boys top CC in the big Ballyard in the South Bronx on 5/20. Huge HR from Ludstick. Can still hear Chappies fastball "kerpowing" all over the park.
2. Saw Bruce hit inside the Park HR at Shea, I mean Citi Field and a typical Bronson performance on 6/15.
3. Saw Homer's masterpiece on 9/28.
4. Saw McCutchen hit a 800 foot walk off before a sold out crowd on 9/29. 2 runs in two games off right handed pitchers. Paging Mr. Choo. (Will concede Stubbs made some spectacular catches in this game).
All in all a fun summer. Lets start 2013 tomorrow.
Re: Looking back on the Reds 2012 season, what was the standout memory?
Seeing Jay Bruce's walk-off homerun against the Mets
It's the first walk-off homerun that I've seen in person and Jay is my favorite player so that made it even better. It was also the same night my grandma died so it was bittersweet, to say the least
Re: Looking back on the Reds 2012 season, what was the standout memory?
Seeing Scott Rolen flail away on a hanging slider in the sun deck of Game 5.
Longest drive home of my life

For the season... I'll always remember how guys stepped up when Joey went down
For a moment... The Chapman tumble was awesome. I was so jacked about how we were playing and to see his excitement was great.

Agree I think this was not only the most exciting moment but also the most important moment, it really defined what our season was about.

the postseason took all my good memories away
