Id make two changes flip Heisey and Cozart and Frazier and Rolen, otherwise not a bad lineup
Stubbs, Cozy and Rolen getting more AB than Frazier is not good.
At least switch Cozy and Heisey
I dont understand why Bruce would play against the lefty last night, so he can sit against the righty tonight. And why Ludwick the "lefty killer" would sit last night and play tonight.
Trevor Bauer was the number three pick in the draft. He also strikes out a lot of batters. He is right-handed. That is all I know about him.
Here is a scouting report: http://baseballprospectnation.com/20...vor-bauer-rhp/
Putting Stubbs and Cozart at the top of the order instead of Heisey is laughable.
In the past the Reds have struggled against guys they haven't seen before. But recently they have been struggling against guys they have seen before so it probably doesn't make much difference.
2 possible explanations...
1. They didn't know when they made yesterday's lineup that Votto's injury was this serious. They wanted to sit Votto/Bruce on different days.
2. We need to get Bruce going badly and regardless of lefty/righty, Bauer is 100 times better than Miley. He was more likely to hit Miley and getting him confidence is very high on the priority list.
2-3 runs max with this lineup.......if Stubbs has a bad night. Against a lefty, he may not.
Another night when the pitching has to be pretty much perfect. I bet that gets old outing after outing. It's quite remarkable that they have been up to the task more often than not this season.
Headed downtown now for some dinner and baseball. Hopefully Ace Cueto can get back to his old form!
