Man, could Coy rush the passer. And a great football name, too.
I remember Coy Bacon playing for the Redskins toward the end of his career, when I was just starting to pay attention to football. Always liked the name too.
RIP, Coy.
Last night my mom pulled out an old folder that my dad had taken to Bengals training camp back in the 70s to get signed by the players.
Lo and behold on the cover was Coy Bacon's signature.
And on the inside of the folder were several photos of the players from that day and one was of Coy signing the folder.
Pretty neat.
Well it's signed by Kenny Anderson, Isaac Curtis, Archie Griffin, and a bunch of other names I'm going to have to figure out.
I dunno. Since my Dad died, I don't know if I can part with it, especially since I thought it was long gone until now.
But you are right, indeed.
