Remember just a month ago when Homer Bailey looked like the 2nd best pitcher here?
Now, Leake looks like an outstanding #3 and Latos a solid #2.
Here's all Leake has done over his last 11 starts:
He has been outstanding since the middle of May, compiling a 3-1 record, 2.59 ERA and 1.12 WHIP over his last 11 starts.

Can anyone remember a better pitching staff? Not in my 43 years of watching them (been watching them closely since I was 10, so I'm thinking since 1969.)

This is a great staff.....could you imagine this staff with the Griffey/Dunn offense when GABP first opened?

Yeah, but their defense stunk.

Pitchers pitch with confidence with great defense behind them and at the plate (Hanigan/Mesoraco). It's very underrated.

I'd just take a Josh Hamilton offense.

Post-season pitching looks good at this point
Cueto
Latos
Then a choice of Leake, Bailey, and Arroyo with the other two going into the pen.

40+ for me, too. Best I can recall from 1-5.

My guess it would be Cueto/Leake/Latos/Arroyo(if they need 4) right now with Bailey down in the pen(where he belongs).

As I said on the other thread, Leake will have likely reached his limit on innings for the season and Bailey will be close. Bailey's never pitched over 132 innings i the bigs and that was last year. Leake went 167 last year and at 6 innings per start will be over 200 this year.

With each passing day your Bailey hate gets dumber and dumber.
