They are both right handed and can play left field. How about Andrew Jones, or we bring back Austin Kearns. Kearns had a salary of around 500,000 last year with New York. Just an idea.

Andrew Jones would, at this point, likely be another Corey Taveraz or Willy Patterson (or whatever that guy's name is ;)), and Kearns wouldn't be much better. I don't think either player is an upgrade over what we have.
2'nd the above. Think Jones tank has been empty for a few years now. Kearns didnt work first time through, dont see it any better now with us.
You get what you pay for when it comes to free agents.
Would Jeff Francoeur be a good pickup as full time leftfielder.
francouer strikes out way too much. That is something that has hurt the Reds in the past. This lineup is way too pitchable, Francouer would only compound that. His arm in left would be interesting. We would have the two best outfield arms in the majors. But I say no way.
I'd give Kearns a MLC.
I think alot of those free agents are going to be waiting until Spring Training to sign. Not many of them are attractive to me.
True.
A better way to put it is cheap free agents are cheap for a reason. Most of the time their results are in line with what you paid.
Expensive free agents are a crap shoot. I can tell you that I don't believe in any contract being over 3 years, but I understand that it is sometimes necessary.
You guys are bringing these dudes up but here are the stats for Gomes. He's just as good as them.
511 ab .266 avg ops .758. 86 rbi's.
MLB trade rumors has a list of the top 50 free agents available with several teams for each player listed as possible destinations. We are not listed on a single player as a possible team by anyone....oh except for Arthur Rhodes.
