I'm not to sure of the reasoning behing this one. Reds just signed one over the hill infielder and then re-sign another?? Does not make sense to me.:help:
I hope this move wasn't made at the notion that he will play 1B when/if Kearns or Wily Mo is traded. I can tolerate him as a utility IF...but nothing more...PLEASE!
Hopefully, that is not the case. But hey, what is one more terrible move in a sea of them on O'Brian and the Reds part. :bang:
Dan O'Brien thinks a youth movement is something you find in a diaper.
Rich Aurilla signing.....
Maybe MR. Injury/DUI
:freel:
Well, there goes the draft pick. :D
News: Aurilia agreed to a $1.3 million, one-year contract with the Reds Sunday that includes a $2 million mutual option for 2007, the Associated Press reports.
Spin: The versatile Aurilia batted .282 with 14 homers and 68 RBI for the Reds last season, starting 68 games at second base, 30 at shortstop and 18 at third.
I know Rich did some dumb things last year but he also did well with the bat and we can move him around the diamond a bit. One yr at 1.3 million with an option for a 2nd I'll take it.
once again, and the last time i'll ever post it:
Aurilia
Home: 332/380/561
Away: 231/296/325
This I believe:
1. O'brien always intended on resigning Aurillia.
2. There was no chance anyone was going to sign him once the Reds offered arbitration because an unknown draft pick is worth more to the other clubs than Aurillia.
Do The Reds Get A Pick For Ramon Ortiz?Quote:

Although I was never a fan of his attitude I liked how he played. I think it is a good signing, especially with the further development of an obvoius drinking problem for Freel.
The next move, however, (if there are any more moves) must be with the pitching.
So he only gets played at the GAB, that's fair, right?Quote:
