Re: Ludwick injury - dislocated shoulder
I may be mistaken, but I don't see anything on the farm or on the club that is ready to take up the slack right now.
Re: Ludwick injury - dislocated shoulder
Matt Diaz is a free agent, isn't he?

I agree. There isn't a single person I'd feel ok with over 4-6 weeks to fill in for Ludwick. I really hope it isn't a serious injury but I know all too well how shoulder injuries can drag on for years.

Cigriani and Hamilton for Stanton.
I kid, I kid.
Sort of.

I'd do it in a second.

I would too but they wouldn't.

Throw in some payflex and they might.

If that's all it took then I would jump on it. I still believe they would want more, such as Chapman.

I really doubt it. Our payroll jumped over 20% from last season.
I think we are stuck with a Heisey/Paul platoon for the time being. While this is obviously not an ideal situation, we still have a pretty solid lineup. Keep your fingers crossed that Ludwick isn't going to miss the season, though.

I might do that, too. I'm not exactly worried about our bullpen, even without the Missile.

I'd do Chapman and Hamilton for Stanton and wouldn't regret it for a second.
Re: Ludwick injury - dislocated shoulder
I have a feeling Heisey will be in left with Choo staying in center. Xavier Paul will get his share of at-bats, as well.
I see them wanting to keep Choo in center because (unless the MRI reveals something bad) Ludwick will be back this season. Let Choo continue to adjust himself to center rather than jerking him around position to position.
If worst case happens and Ludwick is out for the year, then I can see Scott Rolen being brought back in. I know I am in a huge minority but with the intangibles that Rolen brings I would welcome this move. He certainly isn't going to start the bulk of the games, though. Frazier will still get his full season's worth of at bats, just moving between third and left. Jack Hannahan would get a decent amount of playing time as well.

I don't know that there's anyone out there worth acquiring this early on in the goings.
I've seen "bring back Scott Rolen" floated, but I can't imagine he's in game shape right now.

Knowing his "game shape", I wouldn't do it anyway. It's Frazier's time.

How would that be different than the last couple of years?
