Re: Sunday 7/15/2012 Minor-League Updates
Henry Rodriguez is up to .351/ .368/ .459 in his brief time in AAA (9 games).
Re: Sunday 7/15/2012 Minor-League Updates
Corcino fastball was sitting at 92-94 with his fastball today touched 95 his slider 84-87.Lost his control a little bit in the 3rd otherwise was pretty much in control.
Curtis Partch touched 97 with his fastball looked really good as well.
Lamare has a cannon arm in center just a few observations from todays game.

Video of Hamilton's inside-the-park HR. (It was choppy on my computer. But impressive nevertheless.)

I was sort of depressed earlier in the year with our system after the trades that sent away some of our higher level talent, but I've gotta say that I like what I'm seeing from our guys now.
Also, thank you to all of you who keep up this Minor League forum with up-to-date information. I would know nothing about our farm system without the information you guys bring here.
Re: Sunday 7/15/2012 Minor-League Updates
Guessing visiting instructor.....As he has announced as that in before game....

Kidding. (Not really.)
Re: Sunday 7/15/2012 Minor-League Updates
Means gunned down a runner going to 3rd today and both held basehits that should have been doubles to singles....Lamare has been really impressive in the outfield all season

ED is a roving instructor in the minors, rotates between minor league teams, and IIRC, he sometimes hangs out with the Reds too.

Thanks for the info. Partch has had two bad games as a reliever this year, combining for 8 runs. He has given up 1 run in his other 26 games out of the Blue Wahoos bullpen.
Re: Sunday 7/15/2012 Minor-League Updates
Love seeing the Mejias-Brean line. I'm liking him for big things down the line.
Re: Sunday 7/15/2012 Minor-League Updates
Partch has stood out to me on a few occasions....I had no clue who he was until i saw him throw 98 and then 99 on back to back pitches in relief a few weeks back...His fastball sits at 93-96 never seen him throw one under 93 i believe.
Re: Sunday 7/15/2012 Minor-League Updates
Does Partch have anything in the arsenal besides a fastball? The organization has stuck with him through a lot of ugly appearances, so I was wondering if he had any sort of potential as a fringe prospect.
Re: Sunday 7/15/2012 Minor-League Updates
Bakersfield lost last night, 7-5, despite home runs by Lohman, Mattair and Duran.
I know he's old for the league and it's a very small sample, but Brackman might be showing some improvement. He hasn't walked a batter in his past three relief appearances. In his last four, his line is: 6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 3 K.

He has allowed a run in 3 of his 26 appearances as a reliever in AA this year. Of course those 3 games accounted for 9 runs. His breaking ball is inconsistent, but a solid pitch. Probably average, but sometimes a little worse, sometimes a little better.
