i too was skeptical about the Bowa rumor especially since it came for Dr. Johnson's "sourses"....if the Reds were to hire a manager, i think it should be someone younger...who, i admit i really dont know....or if the Reds really want to think "outside the box" why not give Sparky a two-year deal Saturday night (5/28) during his number retiring ceremony.....just kidding, kind of.....
I think Dr. Johnson is Bud Selig.
I dont believe any of the above Larry Bowa to manage the Reds rumor/trash.
However, here's one thing to remember for anybody wanting Bowa to manage Cincinnati. Larry Bowa has been around for years and hasn't done squat.
If I were running the club, Gullett would he fired tomorrow morning. I would move Vern Ruhle out of the minors and into Gullett's job. If the Reds are still crap at the All-Star break, Miley is out and Jim Leyland is in.
My sources tell me that he's actually an editor at Newsweek.Quote:

I'd much, much rather have Leyland than Bowa, not that either was going to happen.
I'd take him over Bowa any day.Quote:

Can we change the title of this thread to "Dr. Johnson's story breaks down?" ;)
Who broke his johnson?
Bowa?
