It was ball 4.

Frazier swings at ball 4 and grounds out. Game over.
That actually hurt a little. Amazing how little pain I've actually felt this season.
I hope what the team takes from this is that every game is winnable.
For the record, I would have pinch hit Cozart for Valdez and had Hoover up instead of Ondrusek weeks ago. Still that's the not why the Reds lost this game.
I've shaken it off already. The magic number went down today.
Have to give them credit for coming back like that at the end of a doubleheader.
Call me crazy, but this was the best loss of the season, lol.
Latos is gonna have him a field day tomorrow. Can't wait!
Now if you excuse me I'm heading out to stir up the Ondrusek thread...
Just kidding, that will take care of itself.
I do not want to see Ondrusek or Valdez in these types of games in the post season, ever, I do not want to see them play at all in close games, in those circumstances.
It's nice to be in a position where losing a game (or even a few in a row) isn't that "big" of a deal...this team is special, and there's something really cool going on right now.
Tonight would have been a different situation had the Cubs faced one of the the Reds actual starters, I think. Redmon was put in a tough spot to make his debut.
Get 'em tomorrow!
Redmon reminded me of the pitchers we would see in the lost decade. Just not very good. I doubt we see him again unless there are a lot injuries. Still a good comeback that did fall just short. This team is good and I expect a good comeback tomorrow with Latos pitching.
It's all pitching and defense with them, slim margin for error with pitching and I'd like to see where they stand in terms of scoring in the first 5 innings versus other winning teams. It almost seems like a psychological block this team has due to the fact they aren't ever expected to score a lot of runs, just about every time out.
Tonight was a good example - lay it on late when the pressure's on, have a couple of weak links that don't come through, and 8 runs are just too much when you can't push a couple more over the plate in the first 5 innings - it's like they just coast along with their starters until it counts. I really think there's something to that with them.
