Hurricane Sandy to effect cincinnati with snow, and 40 mph winds?
Heard on the weather channel that ohio, and cincinnati can potentially recieve a wintery mix of snow, freezing rain, and ice, and will have gusts of 40-50mph winds from sandy
I never asked for this.

Yeah I can't wait. The last time a hurricane made it here I was without power for a week.

The concept of waiting a week with no power, in the nippy frost with snow falling is just not a pleasant image that I want yet:lol::lol::lol:

I'm guessing Ike... I was living in Cincy at the time and my power was out for over a week. I thought being without power in the summer was bad, losing it with the cold and snow would be even worse.

Snow in late October. What are the odds?
Re: Hurricane Sandy to effect cincinnati with snow, and 40 mph winds?
Better to experience a hurricane in Cincy than on the coast. Trust me.
Re: Hurricane Sandy to effect cincinnati with snow, and 40 mph winds?
That was Ike that hit Cincy several years ago. We were lucky....we only lost power for a little over three days but others around me lost it for a week too. That was crazy but I can't even imagine what those on the coast up in New England will be and are currently going through with Sandy. I have friends in a lot of the affected areas and they're all hunkering down and hoping for the best. I can deal with a little snow and/or freezing rain...I do NOT want to deal with all the stuff that's heading their way.
Thoughts and prayers to everyone in the affected areas. :(

About 1 in 2 years,
Re: Hurricane Sandy to effect cincinnati with snow, and 40 mph winds?
My sister got married in late october, around 1993 or '94. There was a dusting of snow on the ground in the morning.

Yep, things are starting to get ugly here in central MD. Can't imagine what it's like on the coast and all over Jersey. Hoping the power holds out, but expecting it to go at any time now. Could be the 3rd time in the last 14 months we lose power for 5+ days.

Jersey...I'm in the north. Not awful here, but the coast is getting treated like Josh Fogg.

I'm in central jersey. Really not too bad here, either. My basketball hoop came down and the lights have flickered a couple of times, but it doesn't seem as crazy as the media is making it out to be.
I hope the coast is doing okay.
