Eaton chops to Votto who takes it to the bag himself.
Young one-hops the wall in dead center over the head of Drew Stubbs and motors into second.
Hard-hit grounder to the right side gobbled up by Phillips who flips to Votto to retire the side.
0-0. Nobody.
Re: ST: Reds vs. Snakes Sun. 3/18
Gameday needs some serious spring training. They would be in danger of being cut it there were any competition.
Re: ST: Reds vs. Snakes Sun. 3/18
Tyler Skaggs - young, left-handed prospect - working for the D'Backs.
Phillips doubles down the leftfield line as he rips one past the third baseman. Nice start.
Janish pops up a bunt which is caught by the pitcher. Hope that wasn't called from the bench.
A breaking ball buckles Joey Votto. Ks looking. Two down.
Ludwick jumps on the first pitch he sees and lines a single to left to give the Reds a 1-0 lead.
Swing and a miss as Bruce goes down.
The young lefthander strikes out both the lefties he sees.
1-0. Reds.
Re: ST: Reds vs. Snakes Sun. 3/18
Roberts with a lazy flyball to Stubbs in center to lead things off in the top of the 2nd.
Lyle Overbay lines the ball hard but Stubbs has him played perfectly. 2 down.
Bouncer to Janish who retires Ransom 6-3.
Rocking chair second for Leake.
1-0. Reds.
Re: ST: Reds vs. Snakes Sun. 3/18
Rolen hits one on a line but it is caught by Young in center.
Stubbs Ks. Yawn. Drew rounding slowly into mid-season form.
Hanigan swings and comes up empty.
Snakes lefty has things working in the second.
1-0. Reds.
Re: ST: Reds vs. Snakes Sun. 3/18
Henry Blanco starts the Snakes off with a walk.
Scaggs tries to sacrifice but Votto guns down the slow-moving Blanco. One down.
A little Alphonse-Gaston routine on a pop fly to the right side. Votto calls off Phillips and then can't make the grab as the wind kept blowing the ball. But Phillips, backing him up, grabs it kneehigh to make the play. Two down.
Eaton rips one, jjjjjjjust foul, down the right field line. Just another loud strike.
Adam Eaton, a Cincinnati-area native, drives a full-count dagger deep into right-center to tie things up as the Scaggs comes all the way around and scores without a throw.
Shallow pop fly to center. Stubbs drifts in and makes the grab.
1-1. Nobody.
Re: ST: Reds vs. Snakes Sun. 3/18
Leake gets one up in the wind and Young has to make an over-the-shoulder catch on the warning track in center. That wind must really be blowing out hard today.
Phillips gets Young spinning but he makes another catch in center. Two down.
Punchout number five for Skaggs as Janish corkscrews himself into the ground to end the Reds' half of the third.
1-1. Nobody.
Re: ST: Reds vs. Snakes Sun. 3/18
One-hop shot to Phillips who flips over to Votto to retire Jason Kubel.
Bruce tracks down a Brian Roberts flyball on the warning track for the second out.
Another grounder to DatDude. Another out. I would suggest trying somebody else. 1-2-3 for Leake.
1-1. Nobody.
Re: ST: Reds vs. Snakes Sun. 3/18
New Arizona pitcher. Joe Paterson.
Starting to rain. Lights are on in the Valley of the Sun.
Votto works a walk. Walks Haunt.
Ludwick fans on three consecutive breaking balls from the Snake Southpaw.
Bruce walks. Paterson has walked both the lefties he has faced and struck out the only righthander.
BOOM! Goes the Dynamite! Rolen shoots one out of the park to right-center. 3-run wind-aided knock. 4-1 lead for the Redlegs.
Stubbs Ks. Yawn. Showing his versatility Drew has Kd once swinging and once looking.
Paterson strikes out the side as Ryan Hanigan takes a healthy cut but fails to connect.
4-1. Reds.
Re: ST: Reds vs. Snakes Sun. 3/18
Leake finished for the afternoon. Sean Marshall on.
Marshall whiffs Ransom on a breaking pitch.
Henry Blanco follows suit by going down swinging.
Ball skips off the glove of Janish deep in the hole. Janish was shading Reid towards the second base bag and had no throw even if he came up with the ball.
Bloomquist grounds to short and Janish goes the short way to Phillips to end the Arizona 4th.
4-1. Reds.
Re: ST: Reds vs. Snakes Sun. 3/18
Jason Lane, ex-Astros hitter, on the mound. He hit rightie but slings the ball from the portside. He is nearing his mid-30s but I suppose he has a young arm. If that makes any sense. Michael Griffin is trying the same thing for the Reds.
Valdez, pinch hitting, lifts an easy fly ball to right for the first out.
Brandon draws a free pass. Phillips steals second.
Janish hits the top of the left-field wall and cruises into second. Kelch and Welsh think it was a home run. Brandon Phillips had to hold up so only reaches third.
Lane fires one in the dirt that gets past Blanco. Phillips scores. Janish moves on to 3rd. 5-1.
Votto pops to Roberts for the second out.
Ludwick walks. Runners on the corners.
Bruce flies to right to end the inning.
5-1. Reds.

Listening to Reds' radio. This is my last inning as I have to get ready for work. Boo! Will be missing the Bearcats' game tonight.
Re: ST: Reds vs. Snakes Sun. 3/18
I was there for the first 4 innings, but left before the rain came. Did it get rained out or delayed in the 5th?

I listened through five. No rain delays. Have no idea if there was one after I left.
