In July 2009, Burress asked the grand jury for sympathy, but it indicted him anyway. Asked why he believes he failed to convince the grand jury, Burress said, "My name is Plaxico Burress and my life hasn't always been squeaky clean."
Burress seemed to contradict himself when he added, "Half of those people had no idea who I was. ... They just saw an African-American over there, sitting around, making a lot of money, carried a gun into a club and shot himself."

Here is your sympathy... be glad you did not kill an innocent person and got 20 years in jail.
This guy is the definition of stupid.

Further confirmed by the fact that he claims to have never heard of Mayor Bloomberg, when they had a ticker tape parade for the SB win that same year.

I have little doubt that NY went after him hard partially because of his celebrity status. That said he brought a gun into a night club, discharged the guy because it was in his waist band and not a holster, and shot himself in the leg. The guy got what he deserved.

You'd think he'd just be happy that he's not a eunuch...

Why do so many people expect to not get in trouble when they do something wrong? If there is no punishment, there is no reason not to do whatever you want whenever you want.
