Announcing the picks for the Patriots this year, Eric Cartmenez:
http://battlestar.freeblog.hu/files/...nescalante.jpg
The Patriots come into this draft looking to improve on the defensive line, especially after trading Richard Seymour to the Patriots two years ago. They have never been able to replace Seymour on the line and are in need of somebody who can step up outside of Ty Warren. We were high on JJ Watt, but he has already been selected.
With the 17th pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots select:

Muhammad Wilkerson (DE-Temple)
Wilkerson is 6'5, 305, and would be a perfect 5 technique DE in a 3-4 defense.

Thought about Hayward as well, but he would have been a reach. JJ Watt was the one I was really wanting (and is who most mocks I have seen have the Pats taking). Wilkerson is kinda raw, but the potential is there. He is a better fit for a 3/4 than most of the DE's left.

With pick #18 in the NFL draft, the San Diego Chargers take Ryan Kerrigan, DE, Purdue.
The Chargers needed help along the DL and were down to Kerrigan and Cameron Heyward. We went with the player that we felt had the highest ceiling and highest motor.

That works sir. Just keep an eye on the thread and I usually send a PM when someone has not made a pick after 4-5 hours of being up.

There's a lot of talk that he's just the kind of guy the Jags will target. I was concerned about his performance against better guys at Senior Bowl.

Good value at a need right there. I'd be thrilled if the Bucs ended up with Smith.

Didn't realize I was on the clock.
As Kansas City continues to make the transition and improve its 3-4 defense, the Chiefs select:

Phil Taylor (DT-Baylor)
Given the Patriots influence is working in KC with Pioli and Crennel there, having a Vince Wilfork type DT makes sense here.
Re: Official 2011 Redszone NFL Mock Draft thread ...
With the 22 pick in the draft the Indianapolis Colts select their Left Tackle for the next 10 years Gabe Carimi Wisconsin.
