One of my favorite Jack Handy quotes.
I've never been inspired by a poster, but off the top of my head how 'bout:
Failure finds the one who quit. Success if found by those who strive.
I prefer: "The overall mortality rate is 100%, so give up now."
Besides, didn't Yoda teach us all that we shouldn't try?

I didn't realize we needed annotated footnotes on this board ;)

Reminds me of one of my favorite sayings:
Before you get married, remember that 50% of all marriages end up lasting your entire life.
Re: Inspirational Sayings
It is not every day that we are needed.
Re: Inspirational Sayings
fear profits a man nothing.
a man caught without his spear deserves his fate.
if you have a shortage of mischief, get a goat.
without chance, there is no life.
mortality is the fate of all immortals.
black is the new absence of colour.

A broken LED Clock is not right twice a day because 88888888 is not a time of day.
Re: Inspirational Sayings
It's not snarky, but my daughter liked this one from me:
"It's all right to have butterflies in your stomach. Just get them to fly in formation."
We send quotes back and forth now. She makes big posters with them.
Re: Inspirational Sayings
"Sincerity is Key. Once you can fake sincerity you've got it made"
Re: Inspirational Sayings
"Don't complain about what you don't have, be glad you don't get what you deserve."
Re: Inspirational Sayings
If you can't learn to do something well, learn to enjoy doing it badly.

By far the most common saying I see is "Anger is only one letter away from danger." This usually elicits two responses in my brain. The first is to pronounce danger with a hard g, making it rhyme with anger. The second is to say, "so is hanger." I suppose this would be meaningful to Joan Crawford, but no one else.
So far, I've only come up with one saying on my own: "Courage always ends in rage." While this is demonstrably true, most people I mention this to begin backing away slowly.
That's where I stand at the moment.
I'd rather attempt to do something great and fail than to attempt to do nothing and succeed.
Re: Inspirational Sayings
How about attempting to do nothing and failing?

If you fail at nothing, are you really alive?

I figure it's like Douglas Adams' idea of throwing yourself at the ground and missing.
Re: Inspirational Sayings
Everything happens for a reason. Usually the reason is that you did something stupid.
