Reds:
Jordan Smith (26) -If I understand correctly, Jordan is currently a newlywed- he was to have been married this past November.
William Bergolla (29) -Venezuelan infielder whose big league career consisted of going 5 for 38 for the 2005 Reds.
Pat Perry (53) -Was acquired for Scott Terry in a rare trade in which the players' names rhymed. The next year he was flipped to the Cubs for what was left of Bull Durham.
Others:
Dan Plesac (50) -Fine left-handed pitcher who still holds several Brewers franchise marks. Was the last Phillie pitcher in Veteran's Stadium history. After retirement, he's done some broadcasting and trained horses for harness racing.
Possum Whitted -Besides the cool name, Possum is best remembered as a member of the 1914 "miracle" Braves who won the World Series despite being in last place on July 4. The next year he played for the Phillies and won a pennant with them as well.
Germany Schaefer -One of the "characters" of the dead-ball era; there are a number of stories about him, some of which might actually be true. The most famous one is that he stole first. He was on first with a runner on third and a double steal was called. He dutifully took off for second and made it when the catcher, mindful of the runner at third, didn't throw down. So on the next pitch he scampered back to first so that the double steal would be back in order. This was legal then; it wouldn't be now. Also; during World War One Schaefer asked if he could change his nickname and please be called "Liberty" Schaefer.
