With Hatteberg getting on base at a .460 clip, it's puzzling why he gets grief around here, and it's even more puzzling why he gets that grief at Aurilia's expense.
I agree, it's got to be some of the following.
Scrappy Factor... plus Aurilia makes loud outs, nice facial exprressions and very gamer body language, very emotional guy... very east coast. Hatteberg has a choppy little swing and little power, and he's quiet and laid back, very west coast plus he's the new type 2 FA in town, and a Moneyball refuge always an easy target.

However, having so many guys who deserve PT with only 8 spots to fill isn't a bad problem to have...and it gives the team breathing room to make a trade down the line.
But it's clear his doing well has been against LH pitching. Why put him in situations where he's not likely to succeed?

This couldn't be any more dead-on. Dude, you have just threaded 12 axeheads.

Hatteberg also started off slowly -- not a lot of hitting but a lot of good PAs that drew walks. He's been really hitting better in the last few games.
I think some of the dislike is residual from that.

There isn't...I wasn't aware of how he fared against LH/RH until you posted stats.....that's where my not being a big stat guy hurts me.
:)

I like Top Hatt hitting ahead of EzE. Hatt getting on base against righties at a .450 clip and Encarnacion is slugging .545 against them. Should provide some RBI ops for a hot hitter throughout the game.

If I can work some nicknaming in reverse, since Chuck Mangione is "The Hat," I think it's only appropriate to call Hatte, "Chuck Mangione."

or by logical extension we could call him "feels so good".
that song always reminds me of cincinnati in the late 70's
Re: 4/22/06 Game Thread - Reds vs. Brewers
I like this line-up.......but I admit that the Brewer line-up is a good looking one also. That is a pretty good team.

Ironically enough, when Scott plays Monopoly he always gets into fights with people over being the thimble instead of making the obvious choice.

No kidding.
I think the song served as the background music to some oft-played local commercial, IIRC. Heady middle-school, early high school days in the great Queen City!
