Re: 5/3/12 - Reds vs Cubs
6 innings 3 runs from Homer not a bad start, but with this Reds offense you need to be perfect...
Re: 5/3/12 - Reds vs Cubs
Two hits from Votto, one BB to Bruce. Only thing that surprises me is that they even got two pitches close enough to the K zone to Votto for him to get hits. Get ready for this the rest of the year, RZers. Nobody's going to pitch to Votto or Bruce, and the rest of this lineup cannot beat you.
Re: 5/3/12 - Reds vs Cubs
Cubs go out in order against Arredondo.
Re: 5/3/12 - Reds vs Cubs
Pretty sad when the best part of the whole week was the rain out.

Gotta add one of two things(in a perfect world both). A legitimate leadoff hitter, or another quality middle of the order bat.
Re: 5/3/12 - Reds vs Cubs
That was a 10 pitch inning for Dempster.
Chapman in to pitch the 8th

The Reds starting lineup needs two lefty hitters (can be platoon guys) who get on base. They also need a righty power hitter for the middle of the order. They also need one decent lefty hitter for the bench. Obviously, switch hitters will do in any of these slots.
This will require making changes at 3B, LF and CF.
It's really that simple and that clear. Actually, it's obvious.
Re: 5/3/12 - Reds vs Cubs
I didn't think this team would embarrass us as fans at all this year. But alas... right here, right now we are a laughing stock.

People elsewhere would have to care for us to be a laughing stock. And even if they did care, we wouldn't be near the top of the list.

Contrary to your statement, the writers/outfits who cared enough to state the Reds would win the NL Central do care - and would look at us now and cringe. If any of them "care" to re-evaluate their lists and document the biggest dissapointment of 2012 MLB right here, right now. The Reds are certainly on top 3-4 of that list (PHL, MIA and maybe NYY in the same conversation). That is embarrassing in my book.

Been obvious and the current FO has not been able to address it. Fast approaching time for a change and I don't mean Baker.
Re: 5/3/12 - Reds vs Cubs
Couple of questions.
Did the Reds ever get out of their April team slump?
If so, are they now in a May team slump?

I thought you'd gotten that memo. It's still early well into July this year.
Re: 5/3/12 - Reds vs Cubs
28 batters 101 pitches. 3.6 P/PA today.

You're right. That was a pretty good memo, if I recall.
Now Sean Marshall is pitching.
Never a good sign when you have to give your top set up guys and closer outings in a losing game to get them some work.
