If only there was a large board on which they could put information such as the score and number of outs.

In all fairness, the guy had a brain cramp and made a mistake. Hopefully his teammates tease him about it and they move on. The team needs to lighten up and play loose or at least do something to get their heads on straight.
Funny.
Time for Joey to come up big in these big games. He's not alone, but its supposed to be Joey's team.

I'm not getting either of these pics but I am guessing Sparky's is a "clicker" that umpires use to keep track of balls/strike/outs and klw is showing a scoreboard. Close?
Either way, I was extremely disappointed w/ JV last night. I'm still at a loss this morning honestly. How can he not know exactly what the situation is at that moment, in that game? I agree though, KLW, they have to use it to any advantage they can. It doesn't get any worse than that play and that loss.
Fine him a VERY large amount in kangaroo court (he can afford it), laugh about it, tell him multiple times tonight how many outs there are, and then go out play hard, fast, loose, and aggressive.
Why Choo won't say anything to Votto: ;)

Well that and this:

I get that Votto has appeared a bit off in a few regards this season, but this is much ado about nothing. This happens all the time in baseball, if anything we should just be happy it didn't have an effect the game (unlike a JJ Hoover fastball).
When I saw the thread title, I expected the suggestion was going to be for Votto to have one of these.

If it works for umpires... ;)
Didn't look like there was much of a chance for a play at the plate. They were at double play depth, I think, so seemed like they were conceding the run on a ball hit to first. If he was ever going to make a play at home on a ground ball with the bases loaded he would have had to be in front of the bag. No matter how much he charged that ball he was never going to make a play at home, not with the bases loaded.
Games hard, it's a grind, mistakes are made for sure.
Just like life, unless you are watching the game on TV, then it's incredibly easy.
