Re: 4/17/07 - Brewers @ Reds
Time to rely on Matt Belisle to take care of business again!
The Reds lineup looks fairly strong.......B. Phillips is where he belongs, and it's nice to see Gonzo back in there!
Re: 4/17/07 - Brewers @ Reds
Some of those guys have killed Bush in the past. His ERA at GABP last year alone was over 16. Of course, to counter that, you have Bill Hall. In 6 ABs against Belisle, he has 2 hits, both HRs.
I think this Reds lineup should score a bunch of runs.
Re: 4/17/07 - Brewers @ Reds
The Brewers have only one left-hander in the bullpen (Brian Shouse, who was once traded for Enrique Cruz, who was just DFAed by the Reds today), and I think that makes this a great lineup.
Re: 4/17/07 - Brewers @ Reds
Cue the Narron bashers for sitting EE....
:p:

Cue EdE to start complaining about lack of playing time.
Then cue Freel's complaints.
Then cue Hamilton to get involved as the nice guy, saying "I'm just glad for the opportunity." Then complaining when he's only playing 4 games per week in the 2nd half.
Haven't we seen this before?

This assuming Griffey stays healthy.

No, this is different. If EdE sits consistently 3-5 times a week, or if Hamilton fails to play well, there will be complaints, otherwise the fact that Freel spells EdE and BP is the correct path to take.
Actually, I'd like to see Freel be the everyday catcher. That would answer most problems this team has (except for the defense part of catcher).
Re: 4/17/07 - Brewers @ Reds
I can live with that lineup. The Reds need another good performance from Belisle tonight.

Then cue suggestion of trading Jr to the Yankees for Phillip Hughes and Humberto to free up an outfield slot and money.
Then cue suggestion of throwing Milton in the mix to "sweeten" the pot.
:)
Re: 4/17/07 - Brewers @ Reds
Edwin finally gets a hit and now he's benched.
Re: 4/17/07 - Brewers @ Reds
Anyone else surprised that JN didn't try a righty at clean-up between Dunn and Griffey? Obviously no righty in this lineup should hit 4th, but it wouldn't have surprised me to see BP in there.

I agree. I think he was starting to turn it around. He has been hitting the ball hard recently. I would have rather seen freel at 2nd
Re: 4/17/07 - Brewers @ Reds
Take out Griffey and put back in Edwin and we're onto something.
