They had briefed the refs before the game that this would be coming. Otherwise I'm sure the refs would have blown a whistle.
That's cheap. You run that play in a middle school game? Nice way to teach the kids the fundamentals.
Heck, I call it out-of-the-box thinking.
Gadget plays like that make it fun for the kids. That QB was a great actor.
Nice way to teach the other team that they have a lack of fundamentals. :-)
I think it's a cheap play, the coach is the one who designed it, he's outsmarting a bunch of 8th graders... GENIUS!!!
Hmmmmm... not so sure I'm keen on the coach being part of the ruse..

Just a variation of the "hey, this is the wrong ball" play from a year or two ago.
I suppose it's not that big a deal in the big picture, but it does smack of Watch Me Coach.
If you want to do this play at the varsity level where you have smarter and better athletes on the field, be my guest. But a play like this is liken to playing stall ball, in basketball, at the middle school level.
But then again, there are a lot of overzealous, idiot football coaches the grade school and middle school levels.
I don't think that play would be legal in high school or above due to how the snap is.
