Good Choice....!!!
Yes that is very good choice.
GREAT choice. I take back every bad thing I said about Mike Thomas.
I'll give him props on this one.Quote:

honestly i dont think he is a big east type coach... can only hope and pray i guess
me neither what exactly has he done????
He left for 4x the money and a chance to work for one of the top 5 coaches in college basketball. Huggins doesn't have a great track record for getting assistants head coachings jobs.Quote:

What had Huggins done prior to coming to UC? He wasn't real known.
I feel a lot better giving Mick his shot, than I would about, oh, let's say.....Karl Hobbs!!?!?!
I like Mick but he's awfully young to be thrown into this mess. I wish he was the coach after this.
Nonetheless, good luck.
Agreed. Some of our best recruiting was done with Mick as the recruiting coordinator. I'm sad to see Andy go, but I thought Cronin was far and away the best available for our situation.Quote:

Mick can recruit the East coast. I cannot underline how great a choice this is, imho.
As a proud MSU guy here, you guys got a good one in Mick.
I am very excited about UC basketball again. Thomas made the wise choice, the fans will support Mick, ecspecially after they see what kind of talent he will bring here. Downey is staying, hopefully others will too, including Herrera and McGowan.
Cronin is the best young coach in the country IMO. I hope his first recruit is the 6'7" Williamson kid from CTC.
Cronin will bring some talent with him (not necessarily from MSU).
Of course there are risks and unknowns about him, but he's learned from some of the best, and has a lot of energy and passion for what he does, and has won and recruited some great talent wherever he's been.
Question is if he can recruit in the Big East without a big name coach to back him up, and if so, how long it takes him to get there.
