Any other Zoners going to Forecastle Festival in Louisville this weekend? An eclectic lineup to say the least.
Used to go when Widespread Panic was headlining. The lineup has changed since then and gotten a bit out of my wheel house. Kinda wanted to see the Black Keys but wasn't willing to pay the price for a single day pass to do it.

Old and new R&B... Heard "Drowning in the Sea of Love" by Joe Simon on WDJO today and wanted to add it to my favorites on Rhapsody. Unfortunately, Rhapsody doesn't seem to have that single version - so I went looking for another artist (there's plenty who covered this tune) and found Willie Clayton:
Still like the original better... but Willie gives it a good try.

I am. Tomorrow looks to be amazing. Alabama Shakes, Shovels and Rope, Kurt Vile, Jim James, Flaming Lips, and Dawes are all bands I'd recommend to anyone with open ears.
Also, I can't get enough of the new Jason Isbell album, Southeastern. Nothing but amazing songwriting from back to front.

For reasons I can't quite grasp, I've added a lot of Cake to my listening list. And I mean a LOT of Cake. So much I've had to watch my blood sugar (although ironically, cake isn't the type of band that would raise your glucose readings.)
Okay, so I like sarcasm, subtle humor, a deadpan delivery, and a kind of ironic trumpet. Also, the Beckett quote in "Sheep go to Heaven".

I had the exact same experience not very long ago (see sig). Cake has 7? I think albums and they were all in rotation 1 after the other for several months. I still listen to them on the regular but NOTHING like it was.

Sunbather by Deafheaven. If you are a fan of metal or hardcore music, it will change your life. Stop reading my post and go listen to it now.

I've been on quite the Neutral Milk Hotel kick lately in preparation for their show at the Madison theatre in October.
I can't believe he's back after this long.

To sum up, my opinion on Yankee Hotel Foxtrot has done a 180; the album is great.
What the hell took you so long?

I saw Mangum solo earlier this year. He was great, but I'll be honest, I missed the horns. The songs really lose something without them. I would rather see the whole band.

Any Tame Impala fans here? I would link the video, but it's a little "revealing", I guess you could say.
