Bradley strikes out looking. 2 outs.

Not really. The best offensive plays tonight are 3 bunts and the Taveras sac fly

Yes. Frankly, that's the point, KC. There are oodles of ways to get offense into LF, and they have to somewhat cold-blooded about it. I am about as attached to Dickerson as you seem to be to Hairston, but this team cannot afford for them to scuffle along indefinitely. There are ways to find guys who can put bat on ball with some authority that play that position.
Re: 4/22/09 - Reds vs. Cubs
Great play by Edwin. 1-0 Reds after 6.

EE is Jekly and Hyde at third base. Heckuva play there.

They HAVE to give this team far more than they are giving this team.
I agree, but they have played about 6 games each. Total of 12 combined. In some bad weather and wind and stuff. And Hairston had the WBC. And Dickerson is new and looks a bit tentative.
They need to produce but give them some time. We've seen them both perform, they can do it again.
Re: 4/22/09 - Reds vs. Cubs
Reds LFers have combined for a 637 OPS vs an NL average of .892.
Re: 4/22/09 - Reds vs. Cubs
If Edwin could work the kinks out of his throwing he could be VERY good, I still think he's got a great glove. Nice play there.

And that can be fixed in about a dozen good at bats.
Re: 4/22/09 - Reds vs. Cubs
Kc, I hope so. I agree that those are valid reasons. But this team really can't afford to let this play out indefinitely. They need to hit.
And they need better effort in general than they got from Dickerson on that fly ball to LF last night and from JHJ running to first tonight...

no problem, lots of other positions to make up for it ;)
Re: 4/22/09 - Reds vs. Cubs
Now someone please try to tell me that EE has no range and keep a straight face.
Beautiful play.
