I could see him being very delicate in a situation like this.
Re: It's time to send Chapman to AAA
Having Chapman go out and fail miserably time after time isn't going to help his mindset. Teddy Power helped him before and he may help him again. Price has obviously not found the answer.

If he's so delicate in a situation like that, what's he going to be like with the game on the line, on the road in front of 40K hostile fans?

I think there are different delicacies, if you will. I obviously have no idea about his mind set and mental state, but a case could be made that he'd be better off DLed than sent down.
We'll see.
Re: It's time to send Chapman to AAA
He's been sent to the DL due to shoulder inflammation according to FSO. Jordan Smith will take his place.

You're sure on top of this. Thanks for the prompt update.
Of course I'm not the least bit surprised:

LOL. How many times is Bryan Price going to be referred to as Mark Price? :O) I've seen this like 3 times in just the past 2 days.

Ken Rosenthal article on Chapman:
Quote:
A veteran scout is adamant:
The Reds need to demote left-hander Aroldis Chapman and make him a starter.
“As a reliever, you put him in too tight a box,” the scout says. “As a starter, he can stretch it out a little bit and improve his command.”

It was probably me everytime and I'm not even an NBA fan. Thanks for the correction:redface:

Reds put LHP Chapman on DL with inflamed shoulder
By JOE KAY, AP Baseball Writer 1 hour, 14 minutes ago
CINCINNATI (AP)—Left-hander Aroldis Chapman(notes) had an MRI exam on Monday that found inflammation in his pitching shoulder, sending the Cincinnati Reds reliever to the 15-day disabled list.
The Reds think the problem contributed to his wildness in his last few appearances. Chapman walked 12 batters and retired only four in his last four outings. Twice, he left the game without getting anyone out.

7th inning tonight is a great example of what I was saying above. I think sometimes we take this "missing bats" thing too far. He was the guy we wanted in the game in that situation. Not the more powerful Arredondo

And then he gave up a string of hits and a run to put the reds farther behind. He allowed 3 hits while recording 4 outs. Not really what you want when trying to keep the other team at bay.

It happens. Power pitchers put guys on base too. The Cardinals have made a cottage industry out of winning games on the backs of sinker ball pitchers
