Of all the male country singers who is your favorite?
My favorite male singer is definitely Alan Jackson!
I haven't listened to country in a few years. Modern country seems to be toned down rock anymore.
I am, and always will be, huge Garth Brooks and George Strait fans though.
You can't go wrong with George Strait.
Johnny Cash. Followed closely by George Brooks and Alabama. Some other old stuff I like... everything else: all this new country crap is unlistenable drivel, IMO. JMO.
I would have to choose between Brad Paisley and Keith Urban. Although I cannot stand Celebrity, every other song is great. Keith Urban is a great guitar player and a better songwriter.
George Jones hands down, then Willie and then Merle.
New guys, Charlie Robison and Chris Knight.
sava, it sounds like you need to take a good listen to my favorite country artist, Brad Paisley.Quote:

Yeah Dwight rocks too... especially if Pete Anderson is playing with him.Quote:

Hence my love of a gentleman named Hank Williams the III. Sounds very similar to his grandaddy and pretty much hates the establishment. Brings a punk attitude to country, but that probably because he also has a punk band as well as playing bass for Superjoint Ritual [with former Pantera lead singer Phil Anselmo] so his music is less about 'Music Row' and more about whats on his mind, much like singers of the past.
Check out his latest CD 'Straight to Hell' He recorded it for like 450 dollars on his own equipment.
Johnny Cash
Waylon
Willie
Tanya Tucker...
Of the current crop, Brad Paisley for the songwriting and guitar playing. I like Trace Adkins, as I have a deep voice and if I could carry a tune... well, I still wouldn't sound like him but I'd like to.
not much into country, but Toby Keith
