I dont know why Leake cant get the best defensive IF behind him since hes a Ground ball guy.
Oh well enjoy the tuesday special.
Going against a Phillies team that is throwing Blanton and is without Utley and Polanco seems like a decent time to give a couple guys some rest. JMO.

I agree, its just kinda annoying to see them giving up so much on the left side when there is a GB pitcher on the mound.
Re: Reds v. Phillips 6.29
Great!! Cairo is playing today, instead of when I go up tomorrow!! :beerme:
Re: Reds v. Phillips 6.29
I'm not complaining about the lineup, but why can't Janish ever start at third for Rolen. He seems like the more logical choice to me.

The range factor of a couple of snails.
Re: Reds v. Phillips 6.29
With an OPS of .471 over his last 28 days, Cairo is a player after Baker's own heart. Combine that with his stellar range on Defense, and Mike Leake's got his work cut out for him.
Don't blink, or you'll miss the moment he actually contributes towards a victory.
I'm going out on a limb here and saying that Mike Leake hits for more total bases than Cairo does and that Leake also has more groundouts defensively than Cairo does, while watching fewer balls go past his left and right for hits.
Re: Reds v. Phillips 6.29
With Cabrera and Cairo mixed in there nicely, it's going to take Homeruns to score tonight as it will be difficult to have 3+ hit innings tonight (until the pinch-hitters come to the rescue).

Cairo has been a little bit of a butcher at 3rd this year. He only has 1 error but it seems like he has misplayed more than 1 ball for sure.

Disagree, this is a game we should and need to win, put your best 9 out there. Shoot give the guys a day off tomorrow against Halladay since we have about a 2% chance of winning anyway.

Well he tripped over his feet in foul territory, thats not an error :beerme:
Re: Reds v. Phillips 6.29
I am gonna quit playing nice to Dusty here soon, the guy just enjoys making fans angry I am beginning to think. It's like a "haha, I am the manager and I can fill out any card I want." Seriously, Rolen better have a sore back or something.

was still an error though... Can't believe that happen... lol
Re: Reds v. Phillips 6.29
Would've liked to see Rolen and Janish in there instead, I think OCab could've used a night off instead....unless Rolen's hurt or something. Better D behind Leake would be nice.
Re: Reds v. Phillips 6.29
Anyone know what our record is with Miguel Cairo starting? I would be curious to see how it effects the teams record
