Reds:
Terry Francona (53) -As a manager, he's 22-9 in postseason games, the best winning percentage of any manager with more than 20 games managed.
Bob Schmidt (79) -He had a great 1958 with the Giants, making the All-Star team and driving in six runs in one game against Sandy Koufax. He came back to earth a bit the next year, and the Giants eventually traded him to the Reds for Ed Bailey. Unfortunately the Reds didn't get the 1958 model...
Others:
Jimmy Key (51) -Really good pitcher who hardly ever walked anybody.
David Clyde (57) -Rushed to the majors at age 18 by an avaricious owner who wanted to sell tickets; he's since become the poster boy for not doing stupid stuff like that. Currently retired from the lumber business.
Mickey Vernon -Another four-decade player (we had Jesse Orosco yesterday)...Was involved in more double plays than any player in history...The first manager of the expansion Washington Senators in 1961.
Neal Ball -Saved from obscurity by turning the first ever unassisted triple play, in 1909.
