The excellence of Sam LeCure
Apologies if I'm annoying folks with these threads (though I didn't start the trend), but there is (at least) one more Red who needs to be cheered right now. He actually might be the most unsung member of the team -- and we saw on Saturday just how valuable and versatile he is. :beerme:

He's a real hero, a real human being.
Re: The excellence of Sam LeCure
Ive been telling a lot of folks that LeCure was undoubtedly the unsung hero of Saturday's win. The Giants easily could have rallied off of our long-relief guy, and no one would have been surprised. However, to go 1_2/3 innings oh shutout ball was HUGE, and a huge catalyst to Latos' outing, IMO.
Tip o' the cap, Mr. LeCure, for a job well done!

I might be exaggerating but he may be the unsung hero of the entire 2012 playoffs. Had the Giants knocked him out of the game it would have boosted the Giants confidence and likely somewhat hurt the Reds confidence. Once the Giants couldn't knock him out the game like they and many expected them to, it took the wind out of their sails.
Like mentioned in another thread, it was a huge momentum boost early in the game and series similar to Eric Davis in Game 1 of the 90' WS.
Re: The excellence of Sam LeCure
It might sound crazy, but I would like the Reds to give Sam a chance to close next season. He doesn't have the best stuff, but he has a huge pair of brass you know what, which I have always thought was most important for a closer. He reminds me of Brantly who was a great closer when given the chance.
