Thom Brennaman's Comment when Lincoln comes into the game is hilarious!
Was reading redlegnation blog and they had the link of Thom's comment when Lincoln was about to enter game last night. From the sound of the link, Thom is picked up by the mic saying something to the effect that this game is about to go into the toilet.
I find it funny that sometimes the announcers think some of the same things that the fans do.

I heard that and replayed it a couple of times on the DVR. I couldnt make it out. I just heard the expletive for toilet..

im sure the announcers think the same as the fans a lot of times. They just are required to keep the moral up and stay positive. Sometimes they stay so positive it annoys me.

Speaking of the Brennaman family did anyone hear Marty the other day when a Reds fan threw a Cub HR ball back onto the field. He started to get back into an anti-Cubs fan rant ("that is a tired act"... I know that wasnt a Reds fan that just did that") and (I think) Kelch stopped him saying something like "do you really want to get into this again?" Marty said "no" and moved on.

I will never forget about 4 years ago on XM Radio. It was the WLW broadcast and if people remember, our bullpen was terrible in 06 and probably coast us the division. Marty thought they were in commerical break and he was saying every cuss word in the book concerning their relief pitching. Priceless, I guess.

Thom is just terrible imo, he is even more negative than Daddy Franchester.

Just when I thought Thom B. was one of the most professional broadcasters. You ALWAYS have to assume you are on the air even if you are off the air.

It just made me like Thom B more. It shows he thinks like a fan. Certainly better than Mr. Positive George Grande. He would have been singing praises for Lincoln.

Thom also got in trouble a few years ago during the playoffs for making fun of the guy in the stands. Remember that?
Quote:
Lyons and fellow sportscaster Thom Brennaman made fun of a 64-year-old New York Mets fan wearing an unusual device over his eyes at a game during Game 2 of the 2006 National League Division Series between the Mets and Dodgers, with Lyons saying:
“ He's got a digital camera stuck to his face. ”
The man turned out to be nearly blind, except for limited peripheral vision in one eye, and this headgear were special glasses (a "JORDY," a magnifying device) that allowed him limited vision with which to see the game. Brennaman later apologized to the man and his family on-air during Game 3 of the series.[3]
And I'm not even going to mention his "man-crush" on Tebow during the bowl game he broadcasted. And I like Thom...but sometimes he can be hugely annoying.

I caught that. I was working in the yard and stopped what I was doing expecting to hear Marty go on another tirade about the Cubs fans but he backed down. There was a potential gem there. Give 'em hell Marty!
