Yes or no.
Unfortunately I don't see them having much to trade and by the time the deadline gets here they will be fighting for the Wild Card. This is an organization that has to build from within. Currently there isn't much coming up from the farms.
Re: 7/9/13 Reds @ Milwaukee
It's exciting knowing you have the top of the order up next inning and yet 1 of the 3 hitters is almost a guaranteed out. Frustrating team right now lets be honest.

Once you are in the playoffs, you are a World Series contender.

Any team that makes the playoffs is a World Series contender.
The Reds are still playing without their two main setup men, their ace, and their cleanup hitter.
I don't know what people expect. They have to ride this out. They'll be fine.
Re: 7/9/13 Reds @ Milwaukee
The best part of this is now watching people rip Jocketty for constructing a roster everyone thought was nearly flawless before the year.
People get hurt, lets turn on the GM!
Re: 7/9/13 Reds @ Milwaukee
Oakland up 2-1, so...that's something.

Absolutely. Reds have had more than their fair share this year. Too many holes to fill at trading deadline. That's why I would sit pat.

As of right now, no. As much as I hate to say it, no.
No fire, they all look flat, and too many mental mistakes. This is where I miss Scotty, he was a leader. Right now it doesn't seem like there's one at all.

Would Cole Gillespie be worth a look?

Nice catch Cingrani.
I root for the two teams in baseball/football that have conservative ownership that shows in their management styles. Now...Mike Brown is a buffoon 100 times over what Bob C is but like Bob...he sticks with coaches and managers who we all know are not going to take them any farther than what they already have done.
I also think again like 2011....Walt seems to loathe making many moves during the season.
Scott Hairston was traded to the Nationals by the Cubs. For not much really.....he could not have helped the bench? I do not think the Cubs would mind trading with the Reds after the Wood/Marshall deal?

Giants Designate Cole Gillespie For Assignment
By Zach Links [July 9 at 6:10pm CST]
The Giants have designated outfielder Cole Gillespie for assigment, according to Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle (via Twitter). The move will make room for the promotion of second baseman Kensuke Tanaka.
It's the second move made today by the Giants, who agreed to sign Jeff Francoeur early this morning. Gillespie, 29, had a cup of coffee with the major league club this month. In 269 plate appearances for the club's Triple-A affiliate this season, Gillespie slashed .277/.361/.455 with nine homers.
