What would you change about your party?
 

At the risk of this thread denigrating like most political threads do, I thought I'd ask both Republican and Democrats what would you change about your own party to improve it. Please try to refrain about talking about the other party as I'm sure you all have plenty of ideas about how you would change the other party. I would just like to hear what you think the faults in your own party are. Have at it. :)

I identify with Republicans, as I am kinda Libertarian actually. I wish Republicans were not so anti-labor. Industry likes to claim over-use injuries from the job should not be covered. Also, industry is being allowed to claim nearly all injuries are behavior-based and can be controlled with discipline. Wow- I'm sounding a bit liberal!

I'm an independent, but have been more Republican in the past. If I were part of the Republican party I would try and get rid of the Tom DeLay's and replace them with more Richard Lugars, John McCains. I like people that will speak their mind and not just give the party line. I guess I am lucky two have to such senators in my state, Lugar and Bayh.

HAHA...was thinking the exact same thing when I read the subject.

I really try not to get into politics too much. I really wouldn't know what to say either, as I really don't say I am one or the other. I pretty much vote for who I feel is a better candidate etc....

I wish the Democratic Party would grow some balls and stop taking so much crap from the other party.

Yeah, I agree with that. The Democratic Party needs to be firmer in it's convictions. And stop trying to move to the middle every election, because then people think you're just pandering. Unless you can do it convincingly like Bill Clinton, but he was genuinely centrist so I'm not sure it counts.

I am a Republican. I love republicans. I would try to bring better candidates to run for Presidency.

Term limits :rant2: for both parties, all parties, so we can get some people who might know how to run a country for the people.
